VILLAGE OF TOWER LAKES

BOARD MEETING

Date: November 15, 2010

Time: 7:30 pm

Location: Village Hall

1) Roll Call, Pledge, and Sign-In: Meeting called to order at 7:35 pm. President Leitner, Trustees Parro, deVries, Baggett, Rolfs, Bolger and Merkle present.

Also attending: Treasurer Rolfs, Building Inspector Cantieri, Village Clerk Parro, Chief Sinacore.

2) Approval of Minutes: Deferred the approval of the October VB Minutes until next month.

3) Public Comments: None

4) Treasurer’s Report and Payment of Bills: A motion to pay monthly bills with the additions of $79.73 to Mike’s Towing from the General Fund, $75.00 to TLIA from the Carryover Fund and $26,843.32 to Geske & Sons (contingent on approval from Gewalt Hamilton) from the MFT Fund and a total of $1,218.45 to various individuals connected to the EMA readiness event paid from the Carryover account was made by Tr. Bolger and seconded by Tr. Merkle followed by unanimous vote.

The Annual Treasurer’s Report was presented to the VB by Treas. Rolfs seeking consent on content. Consent was granted and VC Parro will file with the County.

5) Budget and Finance: No report

6) Police and Public Safety: (i) Police report is on file. (ii) Police sub-committee meeting is scheduled for November 24, 2010 to discuss police coverage proposal requests from North Barrington and Deer Park.

7) Roads: (i) $5,000 was spent to redo shoulders from 2009 paving project. This was paid for out of savings on original contract. (ii) Fall brush pick-up was completed with help of a private contractor. (iii) Resurfacing project on Wren Rd is almost complete.

8) Grounds: Two trees downed by the windstorm were removed.

9) Water System/Utilities: There were two major breaks behind the Village office. The school house basement was flooded. Both breaks were fixed. Another break on Oxford will be fixed next week. Well house #3 storage tank is up and running. The backup can hold up to 7,500 gallons.

10) Urban Forestry: We will re-apply for Tree City status.

11) Planning, Building and Zoning: Insp. Cantieri’s report is on file. Four permits issued, inspections are ongoing and 1 violation on Devonshire is pending.

 

12) Intergovernmental: BACOG 40th Anniversary dinner was attended by Leitners and Parros on Nov 13.

 13) Administrative: 84 residents have signed up for the 90210 text alert program.

14) Old Business: No report

15) New Business: A foot of water flooded the basement of the old school house November 8-10, 2010. Pres. Leitner meeting with insurance adjuster tomorrow and also is seeking bids for clean up.

A motion to adjourn at 8:47 pm was made by Tr. Baggett and seconded by Tr. Rolfs and followed by unanimous vote.
