VILLAGE OF TOWER LAKES

BOARD MEETING

Date: January 18, 2010

Time: 7:30 pm

Location: Village Hall

1) Roll Call, Pledge, and Sign-In: Meeting called to order at 7:33 pm. President Leitner, Trustees Parro, Rolfs, and Bolger present. Trustees Baggett, Merkle and deVries absent.

Also attending: Treasurer Rolfs, Building Inspector Cantieri, Village Clerk Parro, Chief Sinacore and PC member Barb Kolasinski.

2) Public Comments: None

3) Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the December 14 2009 minutes with no changes was made by Tr. Parro and seconded by Tr. Bolger, followed by unanimous vote.

4) Treasurer’s Report and Payment of Bills: A motion to pay monthly bills including Chicagoland Paving was made by Tr. Bolger and seconded by Tr. Parro, followed by unanimous vote.

5) Budget and Finance: A motion to approve entering into contract for yearly audit was made by Tr. Rolfs and seconded by Tr. Bolger, followed by unanimous vote. Treasurer Rolfs asked all Trustees to submit budget figures for next VB meeting.

6) Stormwater Management: No report

7) Building and Zoning: (i) Building Inspector Cantieri’s report is on file. 3 permits were issued, inspections ongoing, one permit extension and no violations reported. (ii) Some discussion was held on traffic control procedures during construction on limited access lots, and improved procedures for overweight trucks. VA Bateman to be consulted for model ordinance language which could be considered. (iii) Barb Kolasinski reported that the Plan Commission is about 1/3 complete in discussing Trustee comments on the Comprehensive Plan draft and have begun meeting more frequently to speed the process. A joint meeting with the VB is contemplated for approx. May. (iv) An Executive Summary of the resident Survey results will be published in the News and posted on the Village website.

8) Health and Sanitation: A Public Information Meeting on the Garbage Tax Levy Referendum is scheduled for January 28 7:00 PM at Village Hall.

9) Roads: $11,000 spent so far for salt through Dec 31, which is close to half the winter budget. The road paving plan for 2010 includes repaving Wren Rd.

10) Grounds: No report

11) Police and Public Safety: Report is on file.

12) Utilities Management: Another main break fixed on Kelsey Rd.

13) Urban Forestry:  No report.

14) BACOG: President Leitner and Trustee Parro will attend a special BACOG Board meeting Jan 26 which will be a facilitated discussion on the future of BACOG and changes to the dues structure.

15) Old Business: None

16) New Business: None

A motion to adjourn at 8:34pm was made by Tr. Rolfs and seconded by Tr. Parro, followed by unanimous vote.
