WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH OUR COMMUNITY

The police officers of Tower Lakes care about the community and the residents they work for. They are dedicated to the safety and security of the residents and the community itself. Their goal is to work in partnership with our community to maintain safe and secure neighborhoods, reduce crime, and improve the quality of life for our citizens through ethical, courteous and professional service.

The Tower Lakes Police Department staff consists of a Chief of Police, two supervisory Officers, several patrol officers, two investigators and a part time clerk. Other resources are available on an as-needed basis, including special investigators, crime lab, air patrol and regional task forces for major crimes and drug enforcement, as well as supplemental response from the Lake County Sheriff's Department. Our dispatch function is provided on contract by the Island Lake Police Department. The Village of Tower Lakes also has enhanced 9-1-1 service provided through the Lake County Emergency Telephone System Board.

Police Services

The Tower Lakes Police Department provides regular patrolling, property surveillance, investigations, traffic enforcement, truck safety and weight enforcement and a D.U.I. enforcement program. We also provide different areas of law enforcement to the public.

There is now an emergency phone outside the Village Office. It is located in a red box between the front door and the Police (North) door. A single button will connect the caller to the 911 dispatcher. This will provide 24 hour access to emergency services for joggers, bikers and drivers whose cars break down near Rt. 59, even when an officer is on patrol/ not present at the office.

The Tower Lakes Police Department has adopted a policy of pro-active policing to enhance safety for our community.

Fire/Rescue

The Wauconda Fire Department provides both fire protection and ambulance/paramedic service to all of Tower Lakes. For non-emergencies call 847-526-2821, for emergencies dial 9-1-1.

911 Service

911 service is available to all residents, a 24 hour emergency telephone number that puts you in touch with your police, fire or emergency medical service immediately. It is to be used for emergency situations only.

We use the Connect-CTY service, a village-to-resident notification system, sometimes referred to as Reverse 911. With this service, police and Village leaders can send voice messages to residents and businesses within minutes with information about severe storm warnings, boil orders, road closures or any other time-sensitive information. The Connect-CTY service is used to supplement other communication plans and augment public safety/ first responder services. If you want to add your number or additional numbers to your profile or make a change, you can click on the "Sign Up Now" icon in the left margin or contact the Village Office.
